I have recently got a problem with displaying the main home blog page – on the themes “desk mess mirrored” and “multi” after the recent wordpress version update.
This regards displaying the background on the “wrapper”, “bottom”, “bottom-extended” elements.
I have browsed a number of other themes and the same problems appear on many of them, however there are similarly styled themes (e.g. “prodesk”, “Chocolat” ) free of the problem.
Have a look at the problem if you can, thanks in advance,

@Tomasz – You appear to be using a very old version of Desk Mess Mirrored. I would strongly recommend updating to the latest release.
Just putting “clear:both” in the “bottom” class has solved the broblem.
@Tomasz – Thanks for following-up, although it would still be best to update and then look to see if the solution is still necessary. The version of Desk Mess Mirrored you are using is nearly four (4) years old!
I really love this theme. I’ve been using it for awhile and recently the background disappeared. I’ve tried everything and even with wordpress updated and the newest desk mess mirrored it seems no backgrounds will work. Can you see anyway to fix this? Thanks for your works and talents 🙂
@Ron – I really like the modifications you have made to the theme via a Child-Theme … are you using a functions.php file, and do you have anything over-loading the theme’s setup function?
I love your theme. Thank you for creating it. The only problem I have with it is that I would like to remove the posted dates. I want it to look like the content is fresh when new visitors arrive, not an article over a year old. I have tried plugins to remove the date, but it doesn’t work with your theme. How do I go about removing this?

@JC – You will have to go through and modify each of the `desk-mess-mirrored-*.php` files and look at the `class=”postdate”` blocks of code for each post format you are using. For example, in `desk-mess-mirrored.php` look at line 72 and modify the line being sent to the screen. Repeat as necessary with the other post-formats. I would also recommend doing all of this in a Child-Theme as well.

I am not much of a coder, so your reply did not help me. Could you be more specific in what I should be looking for to remove the dates from the templates? Maybe provide some examples. I am a newbie to this.

@JC – You were on the right track … instead of removing the function call remove the parameter call instead.

@Peta – Thanks for the feedback on this. For this particular theme, I do not expect to completely refactor it to a more mobile friendly design as it would require extensive re-design of the header especially the image layout. I would suggest looking to a mobile friendly plugin such as WP Touch as a possible alternative which will allow you to continue to use the theme for desktop sized viewports while support mobile viewports (although in a different design/layout).
